Four Seasons Seattle is a beautiful oasis in the heart of downtown Seattle, just a couple of blocks from Pikes Place Market. A sparkling turquoise pool, panoramic views of Elliot Bay and Puget Sound and easy access to local attractions make it an excellent choice for accommodations in the Emerald City.

If you haven’t been to Four Seasons Seattle in a while, you’ll notice that things are different when you walk through the door. They have redecorated the lobby and changed the restaurant to Goldfinch Tavern.

It’s a wide open space with a modern fireplace that glows over sparkly rocks. The furnishings are different and they’ve changed the artwork and layout a little bit, it’s a refresh.

Check In

Opposite the front desk is a helpful concierge at your service. Check in is quick and easy, and even faster if you remember to use the Four Seasons App.

Four Seasons App

Do you know about the Four Seasons App? I love having the app on the home screen of my phone and seeing upcoming stays right there in my hand to look forward to. Find out what local activities Four Seasons recommends (and they always have great suggestions). You can check in with the app, and also use it to request special amenities like an eye mask or favorite beverage.

The Room

As soon as you get to your room, there’s a welcome amenity like these yummy macaroons and chocolates. We’d been traveling all day and promptly devoured them.

The color scheme is earth tones with some bright pops of accent colors. As I always say about Four Seasons hotels, the bedding is heavenly. The bed itself is so comfortable and the sheets and duvet are butter soft and cozy. I always sleep so well at Four Seasons.

The Bath

I love marble, and the bathrooms at Four Seasons Seattle have beautiful marble counters and marble framed soaking tubs. There’s a tv in the mirror (such cool technology) and everything you need as far as bath amenities is right there.

The Spa

Four Seasons Seattle has a great spa. I strongly recommend the Summer Sangria Sensation, which is a seasonal treatment. It begins with a full body honey and sea salt scrub that smells divine. After the scrub, you shower off and get an application of red wine serum containing antioxidant powerhouse resveratrol. A honey glaze is applied to feet while you are wrapped up in a cocoon and your body soaks up the nourishment of the wine serum. Next, there’s a yummy clementine oil scalp massage followed by a full body massage.

This treatment is extremely hydrating and nurturing. It’s perfect for dry summer skin, and for me it was amazing after traveling in Colorado, which is much drier than the climate I’m used to in the Pacific Northwest.

The Pool

My favorite thing about Four Seasons Seattle is the infinity edge rooftop pool. It is gorgeous and has striking quintessential Seattle views of the bustling city, ferris wheel, and tranquil waters of the Sound with ferries sailing around the islands. There are bistro lights overhead and a fire pit, so it’s enjoyable in the evening too. But oh, during a sunny day it’s epic.

Bright green umbrellas are cheery and the pool itself has a quartz white bottom which bounces turquoise blue off the surface. It is at once soothing and energizing. There’s a bar for refreshments and the staff walks around periodically with complimentary smoothies. A magazine, cocktail, sunshine and shimmering water is practically medicinal. Food for the soul.

Goldfinch Tavern

Goldfinch Tavern offers great views of the waterfront and delicious food. We started with a signature drink called Purple Rain. It’s actually a mocktail (my son had that version) and I asked them to make it into a margarita and it was great with deep flavors of blackberry and lime.

We ordered a few things to share family style. The Dill French Fries with aioli were fabulous, and my son enjoyed his petite slider burger.

four seasons seattle salad

We had a pretty mixed green side salad with colorful flower petals. The menu changes with the seasons so you get the freshest local ingredients possible.

four seasons seattle goldfinch bruschetta

I’m still thinking about the spectacularly good Bruschetta with fresh Bing Cherries. I’ve never had cherries on bruschetta before and the salty-sweet flavor was fantastic with Goat Cheese and Sage.

four seasons seattle ravioli

My favorite thing was the Mushroom Ravioli. Four Seasons often allows me to order half portions so I can try more things, but the Raviolis were such a hit the we needed the other half of the order! They were crazy good and prepared with fresh homemade pasta, velvet piopini mushrooms, and herbed ricotta. The texture was wonderful and that fresh pasta just melts in your mouth.

Desserts were creative with an artful presentation. There were also some donuts with ice-cream, but they were inhaled before I could take a picture.

Four Seasons Seattle Bottom Line

This is a wonderful hotel for several reasons and is in my personal top 2 for Seattle accommodations. I have to give it first place because of the glorious pool, wonderful food, and great spa. Here are some key features:

  • Excellent, convenient location in downtown Seattle, close to major sites and the business sector.
  • Perfect service (as you always find at any Four Seasons).
  • The Pool! I think this is the best hotel pool in Seattle. Though it is open year round, try to go before the end of September to enjoy the sunshine glistening off pretty turquoise blue water. Have a craft cocktail and take in the views.
  • Lovely Spa with creative treatments that offer something new and different.
  • Delicious food at Goldfinch Tavern.
  • Complimentary hotel car service.
  • Dog Friendly. We didn’t have our dog with us on this trip, but she would have been welcome.
  • Kid Friendly. We saw a lot of children while there, so even though it’s an ideal hotel for business travelers, the whole family can enjoy Four Seasons Seattle.
